Successful summer - July project updates!

It's been a great July for Southern Indiana Teens for Life!

For this month's service project, we had a "pro-life packaging party" for Right to Life of Southern Indiana, during which we packaged 1,000 fetal models for Right to Life's fair booths. Snacks and music rounded out the evening, and it was just a great time making difference for LIFE! Click here for photos from the event.

Plus, July 15 & 16 was Friends for Life Camp in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a pro-life apologetics and leadership conference put on by Indiana Right to Life and Allen County Right to Life, and it was an incredible experience for our members! The students heard from Lila Rose and Scott Klusendorf, as well as from other pro-life leaders from across the state and nation. Click here to see our camp photos.

Our July meeting also went well -- we took orders for our new group T-shirts, and they should be ready for pick-up at our August 29 meeting. Thanks to everyone who submitted T-shirt designs and who ordered a group shirt! If you haven't ordered your shirt yet, send us an E-mail. They are $7.50 each.

Supply drive update!

Thank you to the New Albany Walmart Super Center and all the community members, Teens for Life members, and Teens for Life parent volunteers who made the supply drive a success!

Together, we were able to donate an incredible amount of supplies to Choices for Women Resource Center and St. Elizabeth -- Catholic Charities, two local (New Albany) organizations which support women and families.

Because of your support, we were able to give 598 diapers and 56 packs of baby wipes to Choices for Women; a vacuum, baby strollers, and hair dryers and straighteners to St. Elizabeth's; and much, much more to both organizations.

Click here for a link to download a document with a complete list of all the donated items.

Click here for pictures from the drive.

Click here to experience the supply drive for yourself (video)!*

And don't forget to attend this month's Teens for Life meeting! It will be Monday, May 23, from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm, at First Church of God in New Albany (2248 Charlestown Road - corner of Charlestown Road & Silver Street). If you are a parent or other adult, please encourage a young person to attend. In addition, please share this information with your church, youth minister, kids' school.... wherever spectacular young people are found! :)

*Thanks to Laikyn, a Southern Indiana Teens for Life member, for putting together the video!

We're famous!

Southern Indiana Teens for Life had a blast participating in National Pro-Life T-shirt Week (NPLTW), an annual event sponsored by the American Life League. It was a fun time for our members to get to know each other better, plus it gave us a cool chance to take the pro-life message to the streets. We were walking billboards for life, after all! Thanks to all of our members and families who participated.

Some cool stuff from NPLTW...

One of our TFL group's photos was voted as a "favorite" in the 2011 contest, and is currently displayed in the "Viewer's Choice" gallery.

Another one of our TFL group's photos shows up at the end of this fun video from when the grand prize NPLTW winner receives her prize!

To see more of our photos, check out this album of our favorites.

Student Day at the Legislature!

Indiana Right to Life and Right to Life of Indianapolis are sponsoring the 2011 Student Day at the Legislature.

Thursday, Feb. 10
10 AM - 3 PM
At the Statehouse in Indianapolis

It is a great opportunity to learn about public policy from pro-life legislators!(http://www.irtl.org/events/)

Southern Indiana Teens for Life is hoping to get a group together to attend. It is free, and lunch is provided. There's more info here:
http://www.irtl.org/events/

...If you are interested, let us know (SouthernIndianaTFL@yahoo.com)! We need to know who can come so that we can get our travel plans in place. You can register yourself through the Indiana Right to Life or we can register you. We just need to register EARLY because space is very limited (but please realize that this is a committment, and so if you sign up, we WILL expect you to show up).

Let us know if you would like to ride up with and attend as part of our Teens for Life group -- our adult sponsor will be driving, and Right to Life of Southern Indiana has offered to cover gas mileage for our TFL group (thank you, thank you, thank you!). So... it's a great opportunity, and it will cost you NOTHING to attend!

We would probably need to leave around 7am and return to Southern Indiana around 6pm. It'll be an all-day thing, but a great educational opportunity!

** Our January TFL meeting is tentatively scheduled for Monday, Jan. 31, from 4 - 5 pm, location TBA.** If you plan to ride up with our group to the Student Day, it is highly recommended that you ATTEND this meeting. Do not miss it!
